Wren (as Elaith): [slightly British accent] Mutable. Changing. That's the world around us. Nothing ever is what it appears and to those that can see it, we can break things down to their most base elements, combine them to enact unfathomable possibilities. I used to believe that I had the eye, the skill and the expertise to create miracles. I thought that I could control the outcomes of alchemical combinations. I thought myself somewhat of a prodigy.
Now? I'm not so sure. An experiment gone awry changed my best friend and confidante to stone. It was an outcome that neither of us had predicted and it was one that changed the trajectory of my life. I lost my mentor, my home, and even my notes. I'd give anything to get back my friend, though. So, I will. I'll find way more possibilities out on the road than I would in that village.
Some day I'll go back with the cure. Until then, I'll keep searching for it.
